Deputy Commissioner KVS RO Silchar
Message
It gives me immense pleasure and profound ardour to forge ahead with students, teachers, parents and all stakeholders in the transformative march towards India’s emergence as a ‘knowledge superpower’.
In order to embrace such a glorious transformation, Kendriya Vidyalayas of Silchar region play a pivotal role in moulding the young minds holistically. Manifold activities are carried out in the secular environment of the Vidyalayas so that the students build on strength of character, scientific temperament, moral courage, adaptative skills, critical thinking and greater ability for rational conceptualization along with academic robustness. The policies and programmes of KVS are relentless endeavours and unceasing opportunities to nurture the students’ curiosity and creativity so that they mature with confidence as they harness 21st century skills. One of the missions of KVS is “to develop the spirit of national integration and create a sense of Indianness among children”. Children with stronger roots will be ever ready for greater flights of excellence, academic and otherwise. Hence, we are committed whole-heartedly to mentor students to uphold traditional values, and also internalise a deep sense of respect for cultural diversity. This is realised through a number of competitions organised at various levels. The lofty ideal of Vasudevam Kutumbakam is followed in letter and spirit in our Vidyalayas.
“Don’t limit a child to your own learning, for he was born in another time.” R. N. Tagore
In our efforts for equitable and inclusive education, our teachers are facilitators who guide the students to newer avenues of learning. The teachers, in turn, adapt to fresh perspectives and techniques of teaching-learning process through professional training, workshops, symposiums etc in order to overcome the challenges that surface at certain situational junctures as well as help students incubate such novel ideas that can change the society. Experiential learning in the sciences, mathematics, arts, social sciences and humanities are practised religiously by the teachers, creating a more interactive, activity-based and multi-disciplinary environment in the classroom.
In the days to come, we shall see the unfolding of the vision of NEP 2020 through dynamic and deliberate vitalising of curricular as well as pedagogical structure of our Vidyalayas. By culturing new competencies, we shall equip students to face the multidinous experiences of life and shine out as successful, responsible, resourceful citizens of our country.
In this magnanimous gyration of education, a collaborative effort of every individual of the society is tremendously solicited.
Thank You.
